The orphanage was founded in 1956 by missionaries and currently provides a home to around 180 children. Many of these children sent to ICEG from the local courts after suffering abuse or neglect, while others are true orphans or simply abandoned at the gates of the orphanage.
These children, aged from 0 - 18 years are being brought up with love and attention that they otherwise would not have. Hand in Hand have been working with ICEG since 2004 rasing money for the construction of a new baby unit and young boy's dormitory. Also a Missions team in 2006 renovated the playground and also repainted some of the out buildings.
