In May 2009 the Trustees of Hand in Hand decided that they would like supporters to feel a greater involvement in the work of Hand in Hand, one of their ideas to help this was to send out an 'e-bulletin'.

Kiraracha plans approved

Our Tanzanian project partner Kiraracha School has recently had it's plans for 9 more classrooms approved.

CBC in the community

A few weeks ago 29 students from CBC University of Life visited the nearby town of Campos Belos, for a day of social action and evangelism on the streets and in the houses. The town is home to 9,000 people yet there is no hospital, no high school, no drinking water, no sewage system and no hope.

Summer fun in Ecuador

In Ecuador, our partner Mano & Mano have enjoyed a very busy summer of Holiday Clubs for local children. With a mixture of games, quizzes, crafts, songs, prizes and refreshments, the clubs were also an excellent opportunity to share Bible stories with the children.

Heavy rains damage CBC

This year Brazil suffered its worst flooding for 20 years and this has taken a big toll on the site of CBC.

Anne Chege from New Hope Children's Centre has completed another successful trip to the Uk renewing contacts that she has made in the past either from her previous visits here or for those that have visited New Hope in Kenya.

Summer of Mission Trips

New Hope Irrigation Completed

Through the generosity of supporters when Anne was last in the UK we were able to raise sufficient funds for New Hope Children's Centre in Kenya to install irrigation for their vegetable shamba.

Grant Smith, one of our trustees, has written a book that asks, 'Why doesn't God do something to help those living in poverty?' Whilst this might seem to be yet another book on a topic covered numerous times by other authors, it is far from that.

New Blankets and Mattresses!

Thank you to all those who helped raise money to buy new mattresses and blankets for the children at New Hope - they were purchased late January and now each child has a good bed to sleep on each night. Asant sana!

Return to Africa

Two members of the Hand in Hand Youth Council, Sarah Crockett and Cheryl Vickery, are returning to Kenya on 10th Feb 09. The girls will spend a month at New Hope Children's Centre before joining the HiH Mission Team going out to work alongside Planting Faith Ministries on 14th March 09.

We want your old Mobile!

If you or someone you know had a new mobile phone for Christmas, why not send us the old one so that we can turn into a brick to build a school classrooms in a remote area of Tanzania. The money raised through recylcing your old mobile is put straight into Kiraracha
